Tarangire National Park
Tarangire is where the giants meet, Baobab tree and huge herds of Elephants in African continent there are very few wildlife sanctuaries like Tarangire which lies in a transition zone between the Savannah of East Africa and the Miombo woodland of Central Africa.
The is located southwest of Arusha only 2-3 hours drive from Arusha town, Tarangire was named after a Tarangire River which attracts more wildlife during the dry season. The park was gazetted in year 1970 covered an area of 2’800 km2. Tarangire is the best place to see cats and birds during the dry season. Balloon Safari are also organized in Tarangire National Park.
