Nyungwe National Park:
Nyungwe National Park is the largest forest in East Africa and one of the most ancient dating back to before the last age; covering 1’000 km2 across the majestic hills of southern Rwanda. A uniquely rich centre of flora diversity, the forest has more than 200 different species of trees; over 100 species of orchids and myriad of other flowering plants including the other worldly giant lobelia and a host of colourful orchid.
Nyungwe is most alluring for its primate: 13 species in all, including humankind’s closest living relative – the chimpanzee.
