Katavi National Park:

Katavi is also known as the Serengeti of western Tanzania, the park has a lot to offer including the large prides of lions and huge herds of buffaloes, Hippos in Katuma River which provides the natural habitat for Nile Crocodiles, in East Africa there is no where one can witness the big number of hippos like in Katavi.
The park is a pure Miombo woodland vegetation. Katavi can be reached by road from Kigoma, Arusha, Dar es salaam, Ruaha, Mbeya and Zambia but the easiest way is by aircraft from the above destinations.
