Ngorongoro Crater
Africa's Garden of Eden
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a multi-use territory dedicated to both wildlife conservation and human activities, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ngorongoro is renowned for its wildlife safaris, the iconic Ngorongoro Crater - the world's largest intact volcanic caldera - as well as for hiking in the Empakaai and Olmoti craters. Olduvai Gorge, a site of immense importance to human prehistory, lies within the Conservation Area. Classic safaris offer the chance to observe a significant population of rare black rhinoceros. With approximately 25,000 large animals living inside the caldera, every game drive delivers extraordinary encounters.
