Mount Meru and the Colobus Monkeys

Arusha National Park is Tanzania's most accessible national park, located just one hour from Arusha city. Despite its small size, it is one of the most rewarding hiking destinations in East Africa. The park is dominated by Mount Meru (4,560 m) — Tanzania's second highest peak and an excellent acclimatisation climb before Kilimanjaro. The park also features the Ngurdoto Crater, the Momella Lakes (home to flamingos), and lush forest filled with black-and-white colobus monkeys, giraffes and buffalo.
