The Elephant Paradise of Tanzania
Tarangire National Park is famous for its enormous elephant herds — one of the highest concentrations in Tanzania. The park is defined by the Tarangire River, which acts as a magnet for wildlife during the dry season, and its iconic giant baobab trees that dot the golden savanna. Covering 2,850 km², Tarangire is also one of East Africa's premier birdwatching destinations with over 550 species recorded. Less visited than the Serengeti or Ngorongoro, it offers a more intimate wildlife experience with exceptional game viewing from June to October.
