Great Migration Safari
Every year, between July and October, the most spectacular wildlife event on Earth unfolds in the northern Serengeti. Over 1.5 million wildebeest, 500,000 zebras and hundreds of thousands of gazelles thunder northward in search of fresh grass, crossing the crocodile-infested Mara River in one of nature’s most dramatic performances.
Witnessing the Mara River crossing is a deeply moving experience. Massive columns of animals pour down the steep river banks, hesitating for hours before the first brave wildebeest plunges in. Enormous Nile crocodiles explode from the water while lions and cheetahs prowl the banks. The noise, the dust, the desperate energy — it is unlike anything else in the natural world.
Our camps are positioned at Kogatende, Lamai and Kenyaganga — the prime crossing points in the northern Serengeti. From here you can reach multiple crossing sites quickly and spend maximum time watching the action unfold. After the drama of the north, we descend to Central Serengeti’s Seronera Valley and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera at Ngorongoro.
