<p>Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight. Your guide briefs you on the migration calendar and route strategy to maximise your wildebeest encounter across Tanzania’s northern circuit.</p>
Day 2

Arusha → Tarangire National Park

<p>After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park for your first game drives. During migration season tens of thousands of wildebeest pass through Tarangire alongside the park’s iconic elephant herds, lions and the dramatic baobab woodland. Afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire River Camp.</p>

Tarangire → Lake Manyara National Park

<p>Morning game drive in Tarangire, then drive to the compact but spectacular Lake Manyara National Park. Famous for its tree-climbing lions, dense groundwater forest elephants, vast flamingo flocks and hippo pools. Afternoon game drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Lodge.</p>

Lake Manyara → Central Serengeti

Drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands to the Serengeti via the Naabi Hill Gate. Game drive en route across the classic Serengeti plains as the vast ecosystem unfolds around you. Afternoon arrival in the Seronera Valley — year-round home to the greatest big cat concentrations on Earth. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti camp.

Full Day Central Serengeti — Seronera Valley

A full day in the Seronera ecosystem. Dawn game drive when predators are completing their night hunt, morning tracking of resident lion prides and cheetah families through the golden grasslands, and afternoon drives around the kopjes where leopards are regularly sighted in the riverine trees. All meals and overnight at your Serengeti camp.

Northern Serengeti — Migration Concentration

Drive north to the Kogatende area near the Mara River — the epicentre of the wildebeest migration’s most dramatic river crossings (July–October) or the area where largest migration concentrations gather across other months. Your guide will position you at the optimal crossing points or migration viewing areas for the current season. All meals and overnight at migration camp.

Northern Serengeti → Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Final morning game drive in the Northern Serengeti, then drive south through the Serengeti and into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area via the Olduvai Gorge. Visit the Leakey archaeological site where 1.75-million-year-old hominid fossils were discovered. Arrive at the crater rim for spectacular sunset views. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

Full Day Ngorongoro Crater

Descend 600 metres into Africa’s Garden of Eden for a full day game drive on the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to approximately 25,000 large mammals — black rhinos, enormous lion prides, hippo pools, vast wildebeest herds and the flamingo-pink Lake Magadi. Picnic lunch on the crater floor, then ascend for sundowners with Africa’s most spectacular view.
Day 9

Ngorongoro → Arusha — Departure

After breakfast on the crater rim, drive back to Arusha through the scenic Karatu highlands. Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight. You may also extend your trip with a Zanzibar beach holiday — ask our team about safari-and-beach packages.

A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking. The remaining balance is due no later than 60 days before departure. For bookings within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at time of booking. Payments accepted by bank transfer or credit card.
Cancellation Policy ▼
90+ days before departure: full refund less a $150 administration fee. 60–89 days: 25% of total cost charged. 30–59 days: 50% of total cost charged. 0–29 days: 100% of total cost charged. All cancellations must be in writing to info.europe@routeskilimanjaro.com.
Refund Policy ▼
Refunds are processed within 14 working days of written cancellation confirmation to the original payment method. Gorilla trekking permits, park fees and pre-purchased domestic flights are non-refundable once paid to the relevant authorities.
