📅 Your Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Arusha +
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Met by our representative, transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight. Safari briefing including migration status update and route strategy based on the current position of the herds.
Day 2 🐘 Arusha → Tarangire National Park +
After breakfast depart for Tarangire — Tanzania’s ultimate elephant park. During migration season (July–October) tens of thousands of wildebeest pass through Tarangire alongside the park’s year-round resident elephants, lions and leopards. Full afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire River Camp.
Day 3 🦒 Tarangire → Lake Manyara National Park +
Morning game drive in Tarangire, then drive to the compact but spectacular Lake Manyara National Park. The park’s famous tree-climbing lions, dense groundwater forest elephants and vast flamingo flocks on the alkaline lake make for an unforgettable afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Lodge.
Day 4 🦓 Lake Manyara → Northern Serengeti +
Early departure for the Northern Serengeti — the epicentre of the Great Migration’s Mara River crossings. The drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands offers magnificent scenery. By afternoon, arrive in the Kogatende area near the Mara River where your guide will assess the current migration situation to position you perfectly. Dinner and overnight at Migration Camp.
Day 5 🦁 Northern Serengeti — Mara River Crossings +
A full day positioned at the Mara River waiting for wildebeest crossings. When tens of thousands of wildebeest build on the bank before leaping into the crocodile-filled waters, it is one of the greatest spectacles in the natural world. Your guide monitors multiple crossing points to ensure you are in the right place at the right time. All meals and overnight at migration camp.
Day 6 🐆 Northern Serengeti → Central Serengeti +
Morning at Kogatende with a final scan for crossing activity, then drive south to the Seronera Valley. The Seronera is year-round home to the Serengeti’s most famous lion prides and provides exceptional leopard sightings in the riverine trees. Afternoon game drive. All meals and overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge or Thorn Tree Camp.
Day 7 🦏 Ngorongoro Crater +
Early departure for the Ngorongoro Crater — descend 600 metres into the world’s largest intact caldera. The 265 km² crater contains approximately 25,000 large mammals in a self-contained ecosystem. Spend the full day on the crater floor with a picnic lunch. Best chance in Tanzania of seeing the critically endangered black rhinoceros. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.
Day 8 🌋 Lake Eyasi — Hadzabe & Lake Natron +
After breakfast descend to Lake Eyasi for a morning cultural visit with the Hadzabe bushmen — one of the world’s last remaining hunter-gatherer communities. Watch traditional bow-and-arrow hunting techniques passed down for 10,000 years. Then continue to Lake Natron in the Rift Valley — an otherworldly alkaline lake home to millions of breeding lesser flamingos. Dinner and overnight at Lake Natron Tented Camp.
Day 9 🌅 Lake Natron → Arusha — Departure +
After breakfast, drive from Lake Natron back to Arusha through the dramatic Rift Valley. Drop off at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight. Or extend your trip with a Zanzibar beach escape — ask our team for details.
