Mikumi National Park

The Closest Park to Dar es Salaam

Mikumi National Park is Tanzania's fourth largest park and the closest to Dar es Salaam, making it ideal for short safaris from the coast. The park's open floodplains attract large herds of buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and giraffe, while the Mkata floodplain is one of the best areas in Tanzania for spotting lions. The park is easily combined with Nyerere National Park for a complete Southern Circuit safari.
