The Pink Lake — Flamingos and Rhinos
Lake Nakuru National Park is famous for the spectacular sight of thousands of flamingos turning the alkaline lake pink, and for being one of Kenya's most important rhino sanctuaries. The park protects both black and white rhinos — making it one of the best places in Africa to see these endangered animals. Set in the Great Rift Valley at 1,750 m altitude, the park also offers excellent lion, leopard, giraffe and buffalo viewing in acacia woodland and open grassland.
