Katavi National Park
Tanzania's Last True Wilderness
Katavi National Park is Tanzania's third largest park and one of Africa's most untouched wilderness areas. Located in the remote southwest, Katavi sees fewer than 1,000 visitors per year — making it one of the continent's most exclusive safari destinations. The park is famous for its extraordinary concentrations of hippos and crocodiles in the shrinking seasonal lakes during the dry season. Lions, elephant, buffalo and giraffe roam vast open floodplains with virtually no other tourists in sight.
