<p>Morning walk around Longido, then drive through the scenic Rift Valley to the Ngorongoro Highlands. Arrive in time for an afternoon guided walk along the crater rim &mdash; the montane forest is a completely different ecosystem to the savannah and home to buffalo, colobus monkey, serval and extraordinary highland birds. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro lodge.</p>

<p>Morning drive down the dramatic escarpment into the Rift Valley to Lake Natron &mdash; one of East Africa&rsquo;s most alien landscapes. The lake&rsquo;s alkaline waters support vast colonies of breeding lesser flamingos. Guided walk to the lake shore with views of the active volcano Ol Doinyo Lengai. Dinner and overnight at Lake Natron Tented Camp.</p>

Morning at Lake Natron before driving to Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara is Ernest Hemingway’s “most beautiful lake in Africa” — the tree-climbing lions, dense groundwater forest elephants, and flamingo-lined shores are spectacular. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Lodge.

Morning game drive in Lake Manyara, then drive south to Tarangire National Park for a final lunch game drive among Tanzania’s famous elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Afternoon return to Arusha and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
