Day 1 ✈ Arrival in Arusha +
<p>Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport. Met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Safari briefing this evening covering route highlights, wildlife expectations and packing advice.</p>
Day 2 🐘 Arusha → Tarangire National Park +
<p>After breakfast depart for Tarangire National Park &mdash; one of Tanzania&rsquo;s most underrated gems. Named after the Tarangire River which flows year-round and acts as a magnet for wildlife during the dry season. The park is renowned for the highest concentration of elephants in Tanzania, dramatic ancient baobab trees, large buffalo herds and exceptional birdlife with over 550 species recorded. Full afternoon game drive along the riverbanks. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire River Camp or similar.</p>
Day 3 🦒 🐘 Full Day Tarangire National Park +
A full day dedicated to exploring Tarangire’s diverse habitats — from the riverine forest teeming with olive baboons and vervet monkeys, to the open miombo woodland where leopard and cheetah hunt. Look out for large predators and the park’s remarkable tree-climbing lions. Morning and afternoon game drives with a picnic lunch under the shade of a giant baobab. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire River Camp.
Day 4 🦓 🌋 Tarangire → Ngorongoro Conservation Area +
Morning game drive in Tarangire, then depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area via the colourful Maasai market town of Mto wa Mbu. En route, optional stop at Lake Manyara viewpoint. Continue up the dramatic escarpment to the Ngorongoro Crater rim for dinner and overnight with views of the caldera below at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge or similar.
Day 5 🦁 Full Day Ngorongoro Crater +
An early descent into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The Ngorongoro Crater spans 265 km² and rises 600 metres from floor to rim. It contains approximately 25,000 large mammals in a self-contained ecosystem. Spend the full day on the crater floor with a picnic lunch, searching for the Big Five including Tanzania’s best chance to see the critically endangered black rhinoceros. Return to the rim for sundowners overlooking the caldera.
Day 6 🐆 Ngorongoro → Central Serengeti +
After breakfast depart the crater rim and enter the Serengeti via the Naabi Hill Gate. Game drive en route to your central Serengeti camp in the Seronera Valley — the “big cat capital” of the Serengeti with the highest concentrations of lions and leopards. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge or Thorn Tree Camp.
Day 7 🦏 ✈Serengeti Morning Drive → Departure +
Rise early for a final game drive in the golden Serengeti morning light before departing for Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport. You may also extend your stay with a Zanzibar beach holiday — ask us about our safari-and-beach combinations.

A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking. The remaining balance is due no later than 60 days before departure. For bookings within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at time of booking. Payments accepted by bank transfer or credit card.
Cancellation Policy ▼
90+ days before departure: full refund less a $150 administration fee. 60–89 days: 25% of total cost charged. 30–59 days: 50% of total cost charged. 0–29 days: 100% of total cost charged. All cancellations must be in writing to info.europe@routeskilimanjaro.com.
Refund Policy ▼
Refunds are processed within 14 working days of written cancellation confirmation to the original payment method. Gorilla trekking permits, park fees and pre-purchased domestic flights are non-refundable once paid to the relevant authorities.
