<p>After breakfast and a briefing at your Arusha hotel, depart for Tarangire National Park — a 2–3 hour drive through the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Tarangire is famous for its enormous elephant herds and towering ancient baobab trees, some over 1,000 years old. The Tarangire River attracts elephant families, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, lions and over 550 bird species. Spend the afternoon on an unforgettable game drive before heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Lodge or Country Lodge Karatu.</p>

Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha

<p>Rise early for the short drive to the Ngorongoro Crater rim — one of the most dramatic views in all of Africa. Descend 600 metres into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, 265 km² of enclosed ecosystems with approximately 25,000 large mammals. Drive through the crater floor encountering lions resting near the soda lake, enormous hippo pods, vast herds of wildebeest and zebra, rare black rhinoceros, and clouds of pink flamingos on Lake Magadi. Picnic lunch on the crater floor before the afternoon ascent and return drive to Arusha.</p>

A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking. The remaining balance is due no later than 60 days before departure. For bookings within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at time of booking. Payments accepted by bank transfer or credit card.
Cancellation Policy ▼
90+ days before departure: full refund less a $150 administration fee. 60–89 days: 25% of total cost charged. 30–59 days: 50% of total cost charged. 0–29 days: 100% of total cost charged. All cancellations must be in writing to info.europe@routeskilimanjaro.com.
Refund Policy ▼
Refunds are processed within 14 working days of written cancellation confirmation to the original payment method. Gorilla trekking permits, park fees and pre-purchased domestic flights are non-refundable once paid to the relevant authorities.
