The lake's highly alkaline waters turn blood-red and orange as sodium sesquicarbonate crystallises on the surface, while 2.5 million lesser flamingos breed on the flats — the largest flamingo breeding site in the world. The active volcano Ol Doinyo Lengai looms over the lake's southern shore. Guided walk to the lake edge for close-up flamingo encounters. Dinner and overnight at Lake Natron Tented Camp.
